7 - 8 September 2022, Berlin
African Studies Meets Practice – Symposium in Memory of Franz Ansprenger 2022
under the patronage of former President of the Federal Republic of Germany Horst Köhler

In September 2021, the German Africa Foundation organised the event “African Studies Meets Practice – Symposium in Memory of Franz Ansprenger” for the first time. In addition to honouring Prof. Ansprenger’s contributions to German African research, this symposium also served to address the current state of scientific engagement with Africa and to network currently active Africa researchers with representatives from politics and business, among others.

We are happy to comply with the wish to continue and expand this event format and thus, in the sense of Ansprenger, to bring together expertise from science and practice and to contribute to the shaping of German Africa policy.
